CME Planning

Planners of Live Course/Conferences should NOT start working on a CME application until they have scheduled a phone call with personnel at the Office of CME (OCME). Please call or email Bob Amend to schedule a planning meeting: 520-626-4282; [email protected].

Please review the following information before scheduling your planning call with OCME personnel:

  • Live Course/Conference CME activities should be planned 5-6 months in advance of the activity's start date. You should submit CME applications 3-4 months in advance of the activity's start date. Depending on the number of CME applications in our review queue, The Office of CME might require 1-2 months to approve your CME application. Do not wait until days/weeks before your activity's start date to submit a CME application. 
  • In order to submit a CME appliction, you must have already a "finalized agenda," including formal activity title, date(s), speaker presentation titles/topics, time ranges for all presentations, and all speakers/presenters/moderators who will be delivering content at the activity.
  • All people who have helped choose topics or speakers are "planners." You should list the lead planner (usually a physician) on the appication as "Activity Director. " (You can list a 2nd lead planner as "Co-Director".)
  • All planners/faculty/speakers/moderators/coordinators must be listed on the application according to all roles they are assuming at the activity. ("Activity Director" and Faculty/Speaker" for example).
  • All planners/faculty/speakers/moderators/coordinators must submit Disclosures of Relevant Financial Relationships via the CloudCME system before you can submit your CME application for our review and approval. (Collecting these disclosures can take 1-3 weeks or more.)
  • Completed CME applications that are submitted less than 60 days from the activity start date will be charged additional Rush Fees or Special Rush Fees, in addition to the stand CME fees listed on our CME Providership Fee Schedule.

Gap Analysis, Needs Assessment, Outcome Objectives
