Overview
Conference offers physicians from across the country opportunity to learn the latest evidence-based practices in pediatric medicine. This course will combine lectures, seminars, & workshops with question & answer sessions to allow the opportunity for interaction with faculty members.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Utilize the clinical history to determine whether food allergy testing is appropriate
  2. Identify special circumstances that may warrant expedited evaluation and alternative management of pediatric skin conditions
  3. Discern exam findings for slipping rib syndrome, as well as the diagnostic study used to aid in the diagnosis
  4. Identify ways to phenotype each patient with asthma
  5. Counsel pediatric patients and parents on the psychological and psychiatric management/treatment of eating disorders.
  6. Identify common medical problems presenting to a pediatrician’s office that should raise concern for an important underlying neurological disorder
  7. Prescribe non-cross reactive antibiotics for patients with suspected penicillin allergy
  8. Identify the common etiologies of chronic cough
  9. Counsel pediatric patients and parents on the safety profile of bariatric surgery in adolescents
  10. Employ when appropriate new formulations and classes of medications approved to treat ADHD in children within the last 5 years
  11. Identify special circumstances that may warrant expedited evaluation and alternative management of pediatric skin conditions
  12. Employ different therapies, resources, & wrap-around services available as part of a care plan to support pediatric patients with ADHD
  13. Review epidemiology and current status of pediatric HIV in the USA
  14. Employ 3 best-practice strategies to encourage an ongoing screen-safety and digital citizenship dialogue
  15. Distinguish the difference between “Genetic Dyslipidemia” & “Atherogenic Dyslipidemia”
  16. Describe the basics of generative artificial intelligence tools and their potential use in pediatrics
  17. Identify overuse injuries, burnout and career ending injuries
  18. Develop strategies to improve antibiotic use in the outpatient setting
  19. Employ appropriate diagnostics, decision making & treatment recommendations for infants with tongue tie & other oral tethers
  20. Work-up and manage a child with challenging infections
