Overview

The 3rd Annual Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Symposium will take place on August 29, 2026 at The Westin La Paloma, 3800 E Sunrise Dr., Tucson, AZ 85718. The conference will provide education on the care of complex Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB, including pancreas, liver, and bile duct) malignancies, with a focus on cutting-edge technology, oncologic advances, and multidisciplinary management of these complex problems. Leading experts in the fields of HPB surgery, medical oncology, surgical oncology, interventional gastroenterology, and interventional radiology will discuss the advances in pancreatic cancer, management and decision-making in pancreatic cystic lesions, and cutting-edge management of colorectal liver metastases. There will be multidisciplinary case discussions included to illustrate decision-making and engage participants across the medical community in Arizona. This conference is a great learning opportunity for general surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, colorectal surgeons, and HPB specialists who encounter these problems in their practice.

Registration Fees:

  • Attendings / Practicing Physicians: $100.00

  • Nurses, All Other HCPs: $15.00

  • Residents, Fellows: $15.00

  • Medical Students: $15.00

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the management of locally advanced pancreatic cancer including the role of major vascular resection and radiation.
  2. Identify patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer who would be candidates for vascular resection or arterial divestment.
  3. Discuss treatment options and be able to articulate strategies for sequencing of multimodal therapy in hepatocellular cancer (HCC).
  4. Describe evolving techniques for the management of colorectal liver metastases including liver transplant, hepatic artery infusion, resection, and ablation.
  5. Describe the evolving management of gastroesophageal junction and gastric cancers including the role of neoadjuvant therapy and chemoradiation.
  6. Consider ways to incorporate artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
