Overview

The Pregnancy, Parenthood, and Pediatrics: Advancing Mental Health for Women & Children conference is being held due to the alarming shortage of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health specialists for perinatal and pediatric patients in need. With one in five women in the U.S. suffering from maternal mental health complications, including addiction, and with one in five youth between ages 3-17 in the U.S. suffering from an emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder, there is a significant mismatch between need and availability of care. This one-day interdisciplinary conference will empower primary and behavioral healthcare providers to confidently care for perinatal and childhood psychiatric disorders. The event will include keynote presentations with national speakers, interactive case discussions, updates about advocacy and population health programs, and practical medication treatment updates. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, nurses, therapists, midwives, and pharmacists are encouraged to attend.
