Overview
AMDAANA is non-profit organization, with over 400 life members and even more active members. Each year around 75-100 physicians participate in annual CME conference. Physicians include General/Family Physicians, Cardiologists, Intensivists, Respirologists, Psychiatrists, Hematologists and Oncologists. Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify chronic kidney disease patients who will benefit from appropriate use of SGLT 2 inhibitors, bearing in mind potential adverse effects and contraindications.
  2. Implement when appropriate non-steroidal MRAs to manage diabetic patients with chronic kidney disease and proteinuria; apply updated KDIGO 2024 guidelines in treatment planning; integrate albuminuria reduction as a therapeutic target in diabetic CKD.
  3. Implement evidence-based treatments for major depressive disorder (MDD); evaluate data and research for novel treatments of MDD.
  4. Identify valvular heart disease in early stages; implement anticoagulation post minimally-invasive valvular interventions.
  5. Diagnose peripheral arterial disease effectively and manage/treat from a primary care and specialist’s perspective.
  6. Implement current options for anticoagulation and antiplatelet agents, or utilize alternative options for patients who can't be treated with anticoagulants.
  7. Titrate lipid-lowering therapies for specific populations using knowledge of LDL <55 mg/dL as the new target for VHR ASCVD.
  8. Counsel south Asian patients regarding their tendency to accumulate visceral fat even at lower BMI thresholds; implement alternative, non-BMI-based measurement metrics.
  9. Evaluate patients with osteoporosis, and counsel patients on nutritional needs to preserve and promote bone health.
