Overview
The division of Cardiothoracic Surgery holds weekly educational conference that presents relevant material related to the practice, research and education of cardiothoracic surgery and related fields. Each week a particular faculty member, chosen for his/her expertise, presents a topic that addresses a specific topic on interest to the specialty. For approximately 50 minutes, the topic is presented, and the remaining 10 minutes are spent discussing relevant viewpoints and reviewing focused quizzes for each topic.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Recognize and review the differential diagnosis for uncommon thoracic malignancies.
  2. Analyze and critique the evolving approaches to diagnosis and management of advanced heart failure, including mechanical circulatory support options and transplantation.
  3. Review physiology, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric congenital cardiac disease.

The division of Cardiothoracic Surgery holds weekly educational conference that presents relevant material related to the practice, research and education of cardiothoracic surgery and related fields. Each week a particular faculty member, chosen for his/her expertise, presents a topic that addresses a specific topic on interest to the specialty. For approximately 50 minutes, the topic is presented, and the remaining 10 minutes are spent discussing relevant viewpoints and reviewing focused quizzes for each topic.
