Overview

Faculty who teach University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix students are encouraged to complete the following interactive series of online modules. These modules reflect the most current Educational Program Objectives (EPOs), along with supporting evidence and resources regarding the importance of active engagement in bias mitigation and health equity promotion to improve patient and population outcomes as informed by anti-racist medicine principles. Subsections cover best practices for teaching, role modeling and assessing medical students on these topics, along with self-assessment and reflection opportunities on learning.

Course fee: $50.00


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe changes in medical education approaches that promote improvements in patient outcomes with the intentional practice of anti-racism informed medicine.
  2. Reflect on relevant opportunities for direct observation and assessment of learners in competency areas of medical knowledge, professionalism, and societal awareness and responsiveness.
  3. Analyze updates to Educational Program Objectives (EPOs) that align with health equity and anti-racist medicine competencies and describe application of resources to teaching practice.
