AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (12.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (12.50 hours)

The HIV Adult Clinical Preceptorship is a 2-day virtual training that includes interactive presentations on biomedical HIV prevention and HIV management. The intended audience is primary care providers who are seeing low-volumes of HIV patients.

1. Screen patients for HIV, prescribe PrEP and manage HIV infected patients.
2. Identify/diagnose new HIV cases earlier in the course of disease.
3. Expand access to HIV care, including management of HIV as a chronic disease by primary care providers.
4. Identify patients who may be appropriate PrEP candidates.
5. Discuss and initiate PrEP with patients.
6. Provide HIV primary care to patients and initiate ART.
7. Identify and manage common co-morbidities and opportunistic infections in patients.
8. Utilize community resources for clinical issues, as well as other HIV resources (ASOs, substance abuse treatment services, continuation of care services).
