Department of Surgery Research Symposium 2026

This FREE event highlights the breadth and impact of scholarly work conducted by faculty, residents, fellows, and students within the department. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of presentations, including oral abstracts, poster sessions, and featured lectures. Topics span basic science, clinical outcomes, quality improvement, and translational research, reflecting the department’s commitment to advancing surgical knowledge and improving patient care. The symposium also provides a valuable forum for mentorship and professional development, encouraging trainees to present their work, receive feedback from experienced faculty, and build connections within the academic community. Through this event, the Department of Surgery continues to support a culture of inquiry, innovation, and excellence in research.

1. Implement CAR T cell efficacy for cancer treatment
2. Incorporate into practice the impact of the shortage of organ donors on the survival of patients with end stage organ failure
3. Implement the immune repertoire reset as therapy for transplant-eligible or refractory autoimmune disease patients
