Overview
The Department of Medicine Grand Rounds consists of experts reviewing new or lesser-known subjects in internal medicine. It is a required activity for approval of our residency program in internal medicine. Frequently, we have well known experts visit the COM, present the Grand Rounds lecture and then visit with faculty and trainees. Grand Rounds lectures are an essential component of all academic departments of internal medicine. Weekly lecture Wednesdays from 12 to 1 PM.

Objective(s): 1 Diagnose and manage a wide range of clinical conditions that require primary and specialty care. 2 Create and implement optimal patient care plans within the context of our healthcare system. 3 Refer patients to specialty providers, as appropriate. 4 Apply evidence-based treatment approaches to patient care that will result in improved patient outcomes. 5 Reduce the incidence of medical errors. 6 Incorporate compassionate care that addresses and improves health inequities.
