The division of Cardiothoracic Surgery holds weekly educational conference that presents relevant material related to the practice, research and education of cardiothoracic surgery and related fields. Each week a particular faculty member, chosen for his/her expertise, presents a topic that addresses a specific topic on interest to the specialty. For approximately 50 minutes, the topic is presented, and the remaining 10 minutes are spent discussing relevant viewpoints and reviewing focused quizzes for each topic.

Objective(s): 1 Prevent and manage perioperative complications in adult heart surgery, lung surgery and esophageal surgery. 2 Manage operative problems of the adult heart, lungs and esophagus consistent with STS guidelines.
