The APAL Lecture Series is provided to improve medical providers’ knowledge and skills in diagnosing, treating, and supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

1. Incorporate into practice recognition of how common and costly PMADs are and who is at highest risk
2. Identify appropriate screening tools to diagnose PMADs
3. Initiate treatment for PMADs using safe medication options during pregnancy and lactation.
