Overview
The FLC is a collaborative initiative designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of community pediatricians in diagnosing and treating common mental health disorders in children and adolescents, specifically focusing on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, and Anxiety. The program is facilitated by experienced child and adolescent psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners who serve as educators, mentors, and consultants. Each session is led by experts in the field, offering evidence-based strategies and practical tools to improve patient outcomes.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Diagnose ADHD, depression, anxiety, and substance use in the pediatric population using screening tools and clinical presentation
  2. Use evidenced-based treatments for ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and employ psychosocial interventions to address substance use disorders
  3. Increase comfort level in managing psychiatric disorders and substance use disorders in pediatric populations
  4. Utilize and refer to child psychiatrists for difficult cases, as appropriate
